Elysee Concept Maison des Parfums

Am ratat lansarea insa am fost in vizita. Cum unde? La primul concept store de parfumuri de lux deschis in Romania: Elysee Concept Maison des Parfums.

Cu ce impresii am plecat de la magazin (se afla in Piata Lahovari):

  • arome subtile de parfumuri… am apreciat ca nu este acea senzatie de drogherie pe care o simt de fiecare data cand intru la Sephora sau la Ina.
  • un mobilier de vis… ai senzatia ca pasesti intr-un castel… mobila cu iz baroc, in nuante de alb, crem etc.
  • cel mai scump parfum pe care il regasesti in magazin face parte din linia Parfums MDCI si costa 3500 de euro.
  • din cate am inteles sunt vreo 30 de branduri care isi expun parfumurile iar investitia dupa cum va puteti da seama nu a fost tocmai neinsemnata (se pare ca in jur de jumatate de milion de euro au fost investiti)
  • este atat de curat si atat de primitor incat iti vine sa te descalti la usa
  • gasesti parfumuri exclusiviste, creatii speciale sau produse unicat… nu tocmai accesibile ca pret.
  • este un magazin cu un target extrem de high… o femeie cu un venit mediu nu isi poate permite un parfum de la Amouage spre exemplu decat daca economiseste vreo 4-5 luni la modul serios.

William Rast by Justin Timberlake

FashionDigest isi savureaza cafeaua de dimineata pe muzica lui Justin Timberlake… motiv pentru care nu avea cum sa treaca cu vederea lansarea propriei linii vestimentare a artistului, denumita William Rast.

Parerea mea este ca se potriveste foarte bine cu personalitatea lui Justin, iar conceptul chiar daca nu este unul dintre cele mai originale, se pliaza bine pe imaginea deja creata.

Reclamele din Vanity Fair

Fashion Digest si-a dorit foarte mult numarul pe septembrie din Vanity Fair (pe coperta caruia se afla Carla Bruni despre care am mai vorbit) si prin urmare l-a obtinut.

Dat fiind ca de ceva vreme nu am mai reusit sa obtin un numar din Vanity Fair-ul american, am ramas surprinsa nu atat de volumul revistei (410 pagini!!) ci de cantitatea imensa de reclame. Primele 180-190 de pagini reprezinta numai reclame (daca sunteti curiosi si la ce anume le pot enumera)… asta nepunand la socoteala restul de reclame introduse printre articole care incep la pagina 250 si se termina la pagina 265…. si nu pentru ca articolul cu pricina ar avea 15 pagini, ci pentru ca intre pagina 250 si 265 exista intercalate vreo 5-6 pagini de reclame.

Cu totii stim ca o publicatie de asemenea valoare este sustinuta financiar si de spatiile comerciale alocate in interiorul revistei, insa aproape 200 de pagini de reclame chiar la inceput, printre care sa cauti cu disperare cuprinsul este pur si simplu INCREDIBIL!!!!

Ingerii Victoria’s Secret in GQ

De multa vreme astept sa apara si editia romaneasca a GQ. Sincer mi se pare cea mai buna revista for men la ora actuala, ani de-a randul rasfoind numerele britanice.

Pana una alta in GQ-ul din septembrie apar “ingerii” Victoria’s Secret in mai multe ipostaze sexy, asa ca barbatii care vor pune mana pe editia GQ vor avea cu ce sa isi bucure privirea.

A league of their own

“A league of their own” este denumirea unui pictorial pentru Vanity Fair ce include toata “vechea garda” de topmodele: Stephanie Seymor, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington si Cindy Crawford.

Este o placere sa le vezi pe toate la un loc aratand mai bine ca niciodata. Un exemplu pentru toate manechinele anorexice si pentru toate fetele ale caror model in viata este Kate Moss.

Si in moda materialele se schimba

Din ce in ce mai mult in pe podiumurile de moda apar tinute confectionate din materiale inovatoare, cu texturi speciale si proprietati asemenea. Preturile evident se aliniaza inovatiilor in materie de tehnologie, astfel incat o simpla fusta cu croi drept semnata Prada sau Balenciaga poate costa SI datorita materialului, cateva mii de euro.

Recent am citit un articol foarte bun in Financial Times care puncteaza tocmai aceasta problematica a noilor materiale. Aflu spre exemplu ca Miuccia Prada utiluzeaza un nou material denumit Ecopelle, care combina bumbacul si nilonul, dar care seamana la aspect cu pielea.

Iar lucrurile nu se opresc aici. Neoprenul din care sunt confectionate costumele pentru scufundari sau Gore-tex-ul sunt materiale care incep a fi utilizate in colectiile fashion.

“The latest batch of designers experimenting with high technology. Miuccia Prada uses Ecopelle, a new fabric which combines cotton and nylon but has the appearance of leather, for her men’s and women’s collections. Christopher Bailey, a long-term fan of Neoprene, has gone a step further for Burberry Prorsum men’s wear, with rubberised, feather-light silk for trenches. Meanwhile Junya Watanabe has created tailored coats with intricate knitted panels of treated polyester.

Designer Kim Jones is working with similar themes at Alfred Dunhill, where he recently became creative director. Jones’s first ready-to-wear designs for the brand will be unveiled next year. “I’ve been looking at traditional fabrics and different treatments of them. I like to do conventional things in an unconventional way,” he says. In the past, Jones, both under his own label and in collaboration with sports brand Umbro, has created dress shirts in windbreaker fabrics and tailored suits in Neoprene.

Niche brands and directional labels are also exploring the potential of performance fabrics. Visvim, by Japanese designer Hiroki Nakamura, is known for its playful use of techno-material combined with traditional design. Visvim’s conservative pea coats, for example, are made from hand-woven tweed but coated in Gore-Tex.

As they move into luxury territory, sports brands such as Puma, Adidas and Nike have helped propel the shift. Adidas’s rapidly-ballooning sports label, Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto, regularly includes tailored pieces in Gore-Tex, polyamides and elasthane. Notably, Yamamoto has used fabric made from Gore (usually used for alpine trekking) for blazers and parker coats. Stella McCartney’s women’s collection for Adidas has also featured new materials, including treated paper.”

“Dedesubturile” reginei Victoria

Daca nu stiati cum arata lenjeria reginei Victoria, iata ca anumite piese ce i-au apartinut vor fi fost scoase la licititatie.

“Examples of the Queen’s undergarments have long been considered the crowning acquisitions for Victoriana collectors around the world.

Along with the rest of her wardrobe, they were distributed to members of the Royal household upon the monarch’s death in 1901.

Much as her knickers betrayed her ever-expanding girth, so the Queen’s stockings – seemingly barely knee-length – expose her lack of height.

Both share the same high-calibre stitchwork, but the stockings have a crest instead of the panties’ monogrammed ‘VR’ – for Victoria Regina.

Vanessa Savage, a textile consultant at Hanson’s, said: ‘The quality of the stitching and the crest is beautiful. They are clearly of royal pedigree.”

Roberto Cavalli- Coke design

Dupa sticlele de Coca-Cola cu design inspirat de Sex and the City iata ca Roberto Cavalli isi pune si el amprenta pe “outfit-ul” sticlelor de Coke Light. Din pacate distributia se va face doar in Italia, asa ca daca aveti un drum pe acolo, aduceti-mi si mie o sticla. :P

“For Fall 2008, the chic’est bevvy on the block will undoubtedly be Coke Light in bottles designed by Cavalli. The limited run of 300,000 bottles will be distributed exclusively in Italy from September through December. “I had a lot of fun creating three different “dresses” for the legendary silhouette of the Coca Cola Light Contour. They are seductive and feminine, in typical Cavalli style. They’re designed for the world of young people, which has always been a great inspiration to me,” notes the designer.”

Vogue Italia- tribut lui YSL

Numarul din august Vogue Italia cuprinde un photo story ce ii aduce un omagiu regretatului Yves Saint Laurent. Fotografiile sunt semnate evident de Steven Meisel… putin cam creepy dupa parerea mea insa trebuie sa acordam credit viziunii artistului.
